Valentine Lab presents at the Adhesion Society Annual Meeting
Hao Dong and Professor Valentine present at the Annual Adhesion Society Meeting in New Orleans, LA

Hao Dong presented his research on "Electroadhesion based on bottlebrush polymers", which is collaborative work with the Bates Lab and IRG1 at the Materials Research Lab, an NSF MRSEC at UC Santa Barbara. Prof. Valentine presented on the "Unraveling the complex structure-mechanics relationships of PEGDA hydrogels". This work is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), through the NSF-BSF binational research and DMREF programs. Both projects leverage the infrastructure provided by the NSF BioPACIFIC MIP.
Professor Valentine serves as an elected Member-at-Large of the Adhesion Society Executive Committee.

The Adhesion Society meeting is a great opportunity to connect with adhesion and mechanics experts from a broad range of academic and industrial labs.

Great to see the innovative work of Valentine Lab Alumni! Jaejun Lee, currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at Pusan National University in South Korea, attended and his student Joonwoo Park presented his work on laser-induced shockwave spallation for micropatterning applications. Chris Barney, currently an Assistant Professor of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at University of Akron, presented his work on controlling local compliances of cruciform samples to probe biaxial failure. Chris's student Majed Saadawi presented a poster on their tension-torsion studies of elastomers.

Great to connect with collaborators and friends
